I was the queen of "road trips" when I was SEMO alumni director. I went to see people when they lost a person in their family or when a person expressed an interest in "seeing me". I was there. I learned that I could not (or should not) schedule more than three separate visits because I could not keep up my enthusiasm after three visits plus allow for travel. Today, I am going with Amanda Lincoln, Director of Development, primarily to express condolences to the family of Dr. Gene Engelhardt, who died May 7. He was principal at Lindbergh. I want to personally express condolences to his widow, Delba, and to his children.
Then we will have coffee before and after with two other alums who missed my birthday party and have called here asking for me to come up: Mike Grojean and Jerry Morgan. Both of these were so active in my St. Louis Chapter.
It will be a fun time for me to remember and laugh. Gene, you went a 'fer piece' from your days in Qulin, Missouri!
